Revolusolar is a nonprofit organization founded in 2015 in Morro da Babilônia, Rio de Janeiro. Our mission is to fight energy poverty and promote a just and inclusive energy transition using solar.
Using our unique methodology for building solar communities, we combine sustainable energy, job creation, and education for social development. We create opportunities, strengthen communities, and build a more sustainable and democratic energy future for everyone.
In 2021, we created the first solar cooperative in a Brazilian favela. Since then, we have been replicating our methodology in communities across Brazil. While the impact is local, the transformation is national and international.
Achieving large-scale transformation requires structured government programs. We produce courses, reports, guides, and policy recommendations to advance a just energy transition in Brazil.
