In the heart of Tijuca, the Sodalício da Sacra Família is a century-old space of care and support for women with visual impairments. Since 1929, the institution has provided shelter, assistance, and access to essential services such as psychology, physiotherapy, and speech therapy — promoting the social inclusion of up to 80 women in vulnerable situations. With a legacy of sensitivity and dedication, the Sodalício stands as a beacon of dignity amid the urban challenges of Rio de Janeiro.
To strengthen this mission, Revolusolar, in partnership with ChangeX, developed the project Luz que Conduz, focused on sustainability, inclusion, and energy autonomy. A photovoltaic solar system was installed in the institution’s dormitory, reducing electricity costs and allowing more resources to be directed toward the care of its residents. The project also included the training of a solar installer and the administrative team’s empowerment to operate and maintain the system — promoting energy self-management.
