Envision Card Inner Arrow

In the district of Cidade Nova, a historic and strategic neighborhood in central Rio de Janeiro, Circo Crescer e Viver was already a reference in art, education, and social transformation when, in 2022, it partnered with Revolusolar to bring the Circo Solar project to life. The initiative emerged from the desire to expand the circus’s sociocultural impact through solar energy, while also promoting professional training and environmental education. A partnership with the Secretaria Municipal de Meio Ambiente e Clima made it possible to install a solar system over the circus tent and organize workshops with young people and local residents — extending the reach of the energy transition in a region marked by inequality, but also by strong creative and community potential.

Circo Solar was the first solar installation by Revolusolar in a cultural facility. The system now generates 100% of the energy consumed on-site, allowing the circus to reduce its operational costs and reinvest in its social mission. More than a technical solution, the project serves as a pilot for urban transformation, pointing toward a sustainable and inclusive future. Its long-term goal is ambitious: to transform the district of Cidade Nova into a “solar neighborhood” by 2030, spreading this experience to other cultural institutions and building a vibrant, resilient community aligned with climate justice.
