Revolusolar begins a new institutional phase and expands its territorial and strategic agenda through 2030
After ten years developing solar energy solutions and strengthening the autonomy of diverse territories — including urban communities, family farming, and traditional peoples and communities — we are now entering a new phase of organizational maturity, governance consolidation, and strategic planning through 2030.
This is a responsible expansion. We remain grounded in the values that have guided us since the beginning — democratizing energy, empowering local communities, advancing climate justice, and committing to a fair and inclusive energy transition — while taking the next step to increase our impact and scale.
Leadership transition and institutional continuity
We are also going through a leadership transition.
Eduardo Ávila concludes his term as Executive Director after six years leading the organization and will continue contributing as a board member, focusing on strategy and internationalization.
His academic work at Columbia University strengthens international connections that are already generating research exchanges and strategic partnerships for Revolusolar.
We are now formalizing this international agenda by building global networks that strengthen our advocacy, knowledge production, and ability to mobilize resources for expansion.
Implementation of a shared governance model
We are implementing a shared governance model that distributes strategic responsibilities across four leadership areas:
- Executive Directorate
- People and Communities Directorate
- Institutional and Government Relations Directorate
- Territorial Projects Directorate
These areas are currently led by Igor Mello, Adriano Paraíso, Graziella Albuquerque, and Cecília Pestana, respectively.
We continue to strengthen internal processes, improve coordination across teams, and consolidate a more integrated, transparent, and strategic management approach.
Our next step is to deepen planning, monitoring, and sustainability mechanisms, ensuring strong institutional foundations for the 2026–2030 cycle.
Strategic planning through 2030
We are building our strategic plan through 2030 with the active participation of teams, communities, board members, partners, and funders.
This process defines key priorities such as:
- expanding projects across territories;
- strengthening institutional and administrative capacity;
- advancing applied research and knowledge production;
- expanding internationalization and academic cooperation;
- influencing national and global policy agendas;
- ensuring long-term financial sustainability;
- developing scalable technologies and methodologies.
In the coming months, we will share progress on this plan with our network.
Research, knowledge, and public policy
Throughout our journey, we have integrated solar energy generation, technical training, and community organization with applied research and knowledge production.
We are now structuring this as a permanent strategic pillar. We systematize the knowledge generated in the territories, strengthen academic partnerships, and expand our dialogue with governments, regulators, and companies.
Our next step is to position Revolusolar as a technical reference in Brazil’s just energy transition agenda, contributing to public policies, regulatory frameworks, and financial mechanisms that expand access to clean energy for those who need it most.
A new chapter in motion
We are expanding our territorial reach, strengthening our policy advocacy, and consolidating our institutional structure to sustain growth with consistency and impact through 2030.
We remain committed to building a fair, democratic, and sustainable energy future — rooted in the territories and communities that drive this transition.
